Summer Spanish Resources

My YouTube channel has playlists of Spanish videos on a variety of topics. Watching videos is useful because it gives students comprehensible input in a format they enjoy.

Señor Wooly's website has phenomenal music videos that are entertaining and engaging for students. As an added bonus they are great for learning and practicing Spanish.  I've made it really simple for students to log in.  The username and password is the same.

Spanish 1 students should use one of these two options: sasespanol1  OR  sasespanol2
Spanish 2 students should use one of these two options: sasespanol3  OR  sasespanol4
Again, use the same thing for username and password.  There are two options for each level because Señor Wooly limits the number of devices that can be logged in with the same username.

Duolingo is a free website and app that is good for practicing Spanish, and in this case you get far more than you pay for. The one drawback is that it focuses almost exclusively on translation, but it has been turned into a game and kids enjoy it.

Free Rice is a website that lets you practice some pretty random vocabulary, but for a good cause.  For each question answered correctly they donate 10 grains of rice through the World Food Programme.  Practicing for a good cause!

Book Box - animated books.  Need I say more?  Just choose "Spanish" and pick from one of 13 free books.

Tumble Books - animated books.  Need I say more?  SAS has a subscription.  Username: sasedu  Password: books
Once you login, choose Español from the drop-down menu and hit "go", then click "libros de cuentos".

Señor Bolaños also teaches here at SAS and he has some great resources on his website, including some of the lessons from his class.

The IS Spanish Site has videos, presentations, stories and more for students. Parents can learn more about our curriculum, proficiency, and what you can expect your son or daughter to be learning.
